AIRLINES

West Wyalong has an airport (about 2kms from town centre) with 2 runways suitable for small or large aircraft. Unfortunately there is no longer a regular flight service into the airport. The nearest airline services are at Griffith and Parkes. Links to various Australian airlines (and timetables) are listed below for national and international travel. BUSLINES

Greyhound operate a coach service daily through West Wyalong - south (via Narrandera) to Melbourne, and north (via Dubbo) to Brisbane. Click on the link for timetable and bookings: UNGARIE - WEST WYALONG Bland Shire Council operates a community bus each Thursday from Ungarie (departs 9.15am) to West Wyalong and return (departs 1.53pm) to Ungarie. RAILWAY

The railway line to West Wyalong (and beyond), as in many country centres, no longer carries passenger services - only freight (mostly wheat). Instead a CountryLink bus service connects West Wyalong south with Cootamundra (via Barmedman and Temora) daily (connect to rail for Sydney, Melbourne); and north to Condoblin (via Ungarie and Lake Cargellico). ROAD

West Wyalong lies on the Newell Highway, the major inland north-south highway in New South Wales. It is also on the crossroad of the Mid-Western Highway - east to Bathurst and Sydney, and west to Mildura and Adelaide. Being a good day's drive from either Melbourne/Adelaide or Brisbane/Sydney, it is a popular place to stop overnight and refresh.
